Auburn hit-and-run collision results in severe injuries to New York gentleman

An Auburn man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday, May 14, and his family is hoping someone will come forward with information about the hit-and-run driver.

Mark Sokernyk, 37, is still in critical condition, according to a news report (WSYR-TV). He was struck while riding a Razor-type scooter, which his family said was a gift for his 3-year-old son.

The victim’s mother, Marie Sokernyk, told WSYR that Mark’s little boy misses his dad. “He asks for him all the time, and we just have to keep telling him he will be back soon.”
